We can only hope this never has to be used but we need to be prepared for the eventuality and to hold regular drills so students and staff are familiar with the exit paths and react in the right way.

On arrival at the assembly point(s) outside school, teachers will conduct a roll call using the class roster. If a safe route exists, staff and pupils mustered near the front gate will move to join those  mustered at the back.

If the nature of the emergency means students and staff will not be able to resume classes, emergency contact details will be used to arrange collection of each student from their assembly point and a record kept of who collected each student. On no account should students be allowed to leave before the emergency contact arrives.
